I have changed the design of this site and static pages that will be easier accessible by clicking the links located on the top of this site.
The menu on the right side consists of the posts related to changes in my tanks done over time and that timestamp is important to see how things changes - either progress toward development, or they go in a wrong direction and things die-off.
For some time, I noticed that my lights are flickering and some lines are visible on pictures and videos taken especially on the top of tank. Also, I noticed that the quality of light is somehow not one I wanted. The light is too sharp, too artificial. I expected to be more mellow as it was in fluorescent tubes case.
I called the seller and I was asked to perform some tests. I found that when lights are only connected to a power supply, they do not flicker. So, it must be something fishy with a controller that governs the dimming process. Some electronics must be wrong and must be replaced. The lights cannot work on full power all the time - that is why a dimmer is used. And dimmer cannot make lights flicker. I heard that while lights are dimmed, they produced totally different spectrum of light and wrong one may actually harm the corals and make them loose color and be not developing as they could with a proper lightning.
Let me wait and see if the controller will be changed.
